Project Overview

My main area of interest is molecular mechanism relating to metabolic diseases (e.g. diabetes, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and cardiovascular disease). To date, it has been estimated that metabolic diseases affect around 1 in 1000 individuals all over the world. Small non-coding RNAs like microRNAs (miRNAs) and long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play vital roles in cellular processes. However, the roles of small RNAs in the progression of metabolic diseases haven’t been investigated clearly. My PhD projects focus on using computational analysis to interpret the development of metabolic diseases under the mediation of microRNAs (miRNAs) and long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs).
