Project Overview

My project focuses on analysing if Seafood is the major dietary route of exposure for humans and dolphins to Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). Analysing the data through performing RNAseq on peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBLs) of human and dolphins through their blood samples and discovering the molecular initiating events (MIL) and use of adverse outcome pathways framework to organise the relationship between the exposure and the contamination levels in human and dolphins’ body. Also, co-relating the results with the data obtained from mass spectrometry and immunology (flow cytometry) data (for dolphins).
